There are lots of reasons you may want to get involved with Veganuary, I was very inspired by this thread on Twitter and have been part of the Facebook support group Vegan Made Easy for a long time, which is a place for great recipe inspiration and advice on anything from food to beauty and skincare products. Ive been grabbing some recipe inspiration online and from a few recipe books I have at home.
I’m highly anticipating turning the vegan diet throughout January. The last time I took on a challenge like this is when I went veggie (read all about that HERE) and i didn’t look back! Who knows I could be vegan for good after this…. whatever happens, it’s a challenge that I think my body needs after the over indulging over the holidays. An excuse to pay close attention to what I’m consuming and start eating clean(er). I have already switched using cows milk to mostly oat milk and almond milk. And I already am a serious ingredient checker when shopping so I’m hoping it won’t be as difficult as I’m expecting. It will be interesting to find out how many products contain milk, milk powder etc and I am probably going to have chocolate cravings at some point but I guess it’s all part of the journey! I think the key for me is going to be meal prepping, I get really HANGRY when I don’t have food and hunger can creep up on me, so as long as Ive got something in the fridge in preparation will keep me from giving in to temptation.
I do encourage anyone to join me, and sign up via Veganuary. Ive received lots of tips and a helpful food replacement list in my inbox which I’m sure I’ll be referencing heavily throughout the month. I’m going to try and vlog and update weekly as I go along so keep your eyes sited if you’re interested in following my vegan diet journey!
