I’ve been blogging for FOUR WHOLE YEARS. I can’t quite believe it as I type it. In the grand scheme of blogging it may not be that long, but I’ve seen a lot in that time. The blogging community and standard have changed so much. The bar has been raised, the sphere has grown and the people have GLOWED UP.
Writing this is giving me a chance to reflect on my own growth as a person and the content I’ve shared. And while I’m proud I know there’s so much more I can do, want to do and am capable of.
People often ask me what I blog about and why I blog, and I’ve always struggled to give a straight answer. Because blogging is not that black and white, it is part of me. It’s part of my every day and has been for four years. Through four house moves, three jobs and a break up, it’s been there. And without it I’d feel at a loss. It’s a way for me to share me inner most thoughts, desires, creativity and personal development.
It’s gone from being a candid diary of my early days in motherhood, to somewhere I could rant and thought dump. Now to being somewhere I want to inspire others and spark joy within myself.
The only regret I have about blogging is not being consistent. There have been periods where I’ve doubted myself, over thought about what to write and to be honest been hella lazy. But seeing others rise up around me through their blogging vision has lit a fire in me to make this one of my best achievements. Some people paint, some people make music, others create beautiful wholesome things. For me, I want this place, this blog to be my beautiful, wholesome, creative thing.
Before I move forward though. I want to reflect on the past and share MY favourite posts over the last four years.
- Let’s start with the first ever blog post I wrote which was inspired by a random act of kindness from a stranger (well a twitter friend).
- Then there is this post about body confidence. I spill my honest thoughts on learning to love my post-partum body.
- THIS huge list of things to do know Dorset, which took me forever to write!
- My first EVER sponsored post
- And my favourite sponsored post with The Smile Makers Collection
- And finally, How Social Media Has Changed My Life
Now that I’ve had a little glance back. Moving forward what you can expect to see here is more LIFESTYLE, including more photo content, travel, home, wish lists and days out. SELF CARE, I’ve started a self care series and will publish a new post for this every Sunday. WELL BEING from ethical beauty, to sexual health and vegetarian/vegan food. And lastly, HONEST PARENTING thoughts, starting with THIS post.
So to me this is a relaunch, although there’s no spectacular unveiling of a new website with lots of changes, the biggest change has happened within me. And right here is where you will see that reflection.
I want this blog to become a source of inspiration for self care, style, single parenting and content that sparks joy *throws glitter*.
I would love your thoughts in the comments, let me know what content you’d like to see on the blog.
